Güte builds unique stuff from wood.
Especially to enhance the function of small spaces while staying stylish.
Our workshop is located in Leaside, Toronto.
2016: Güte began building delightful, small, permit free structures.
Shepherd Huts. Cabins. Bunkies. Studios.
From day one, we focused on building artistic yet functional spaces that met three criteria. They had to:
Be made to last.
Put smiles on faces with their unique, artful design.
Offer fair value for money.
As a result, we’re beyond proud that our work has been featured in countless design magazines and websites, and we have dozens of happy customers enjoying huts across Ontario and beyond.
Today: we mainly craft unique furniture, staying true to our original principles.
Shelving Units.
Desks & Dining Tables.
Mirrors & Picture Frames.
Extraordinary Garden Planters.
Building clever furniture for our small structures pushed our design and construction process to higher levels. We’ve learned how to:
maximize space & design exceptionally functional pieces
develop efficient building techniques to save the customer money
If you have a project in mind, and like our style, there’s a good chance we can create something that you’ll love to use and that will put a smile on your face.
FAQ

We do a very small number each year as it’s no longer our main focus. While we still have a passion for these types of projects, we’ve moved to a smaller workshop where we don’t have the same capacity for huts.
Cabins start at $14,000.
Complete Shepherd Huts start at $48,000. -
You’re not wrong. Ikea, for example, is cheap but it isn’t built to last. Sometimes that fits the bill.
Other times, custom projects can be extremely complex and time intensive. These can get expensive.Ultimately though, it’s about what you’re looking for. We’ve always tried to find a nice balance cost, beauty and, above all, functionality. We do this by discussing material options, emphasizing a classic yet clean aesthic, and ensuring that the end products are durable so they will last a lifetime.

We love building high quality items that people use daily, and ensuring that these products are both beautiful and, above all, well designed. That means that is must be a joy for the user to interact with, instead of a source of frustration. For example, a shelving unit that is designed precisely to fit the exact items you intend to store, ensures that using it is a marvelous experience each time.
Otherwise, we prefer refined, clean lines, that are user friendly. If you prefer tons of embellishments, another designer would likely be a better fit.
